In Your Poetic Mind

I did not notice
how dark
it had become

When eyes are closed
there are no fine
lines between
horizons and
clouds

even -when you
are near
I, can not
meet your
eyes without
wanting to run--

That I might miss,
the feeling
of turning
you into
someone that has
lost their religion--
       the
   half empty,
        half  full
   glass: theory

If I am an island
let the skies
hold tender mercy-
glimpses I can not describe
to you
in unwilling motion
and unheard symphonies
as if there are no
words left- any where

I will be the storm at sea
when your hands
have missed
my touch

circling the champagne
glass in

crystal perfection

brilliant – fluting
noise

in theory the glass:

half empty

I would rather have one breath of his hair,
one kiss of his mouth,
one touch of his hand
than an eternity without it.

That emptiness holds so much ....
what if the emptiness is all so
fulfilling???? ... would you still storm??
Maybe ... than by the glass theory ... maybe not ...

but God hears you,
and whispers
"the glass,
little one,
is illusion;
i never cared
what name you
give me;
only that you
learn that the glass
is yours
alone;
empty or full,
it exists only
to you.
can you not then
see the glass full?"
whispers of breeze
carry His voice
quiet, gentle,
meaningful only
to ears that choose
to hear
will you listen?

beautiful writing, Lauren.

Lauren,
How I have missed you and your poetry. Such a soft reminder why. This poem pleads for the kind of support I have been given. Please know I care.
