Dear Lord

Would you please
deliver me a new day?

One that might
not wake so painful

Please see me
strong
and ready to fall

I want to lean
I want to cry hard
so that my insides
feel free of ache

There is this hole
There is just this empty place

Let me go there
for just a little while
and place all the things
that I already miss
about her
and paint the walls
with the color
of her eyes

Let me quietly weep there,
cleanse the stains,
shine the mirrors,
water the flowers,
with all the tears I shed

Help me reach for hope,
to open the windows,
to breathe

Give me strength
to gather up the pieces
of my broken heart

Please help me find
enough peace

to leave a light on
where she belongs

Spirit hugs dear poet

What extraordinary compassion and sensitivity has been displayed in this tribute, and yes, let there be a light where she once was.

Aw Reg, if only there were another day without this pain. Such beautiful heartfelt words…if only there were a way to make the pain go away…I’m sure we’d all wish it with all our might.

Reg,
I miss my baby. But missing you is hard too... Thank you for being my friend. I hope we meet again.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
