As darkness adds to stench and stink
from in the pit of pendulum sleek
The fall of blade a death foretells
as rats upon the ledge do squeak

Eyes peer from out the darkest gloom
into the black of pit below
till pebbles fall o’er sharp of ledge
find clinks in swing of glinting slow

The swish and flail in rhythm fell
from fall in graze of swinging blade
when air of steel does breeze the hear
in nightmare’s wait of one displayed

Whence black of dark and soup of night
does bring the blind to terror’s eyes
in need of feel of candle’s glow
to quell the pierce of screams and cries

In pit of dark in times of old
as fear of cease does bring a chill
a crescent steel of razor cold
in swing of night the beat will still

(sigh) Wow, this is indeed a very haunting yet wonderful poem, sweet friend, I know this kind of nightmare scape well because before I used to live there all the time and could never find the heart to escape! (big hugggsssss) This is powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Barry!!
Now you know me and the affect these spooky ones have on me!
Now I'm going to be up all night!!
I think there is someone under the bed..
AND it's a waterbed!

Seriously, you are becoming very proficient
with these spooky writes.
Good work...

ROTF at Enchantress' comment!  A waterbed!  LOL...

Now, note to KRJ:  diary 10/31/02, docket one week ahead, send e-mail to Magnus to pull this out of the dusty archives, blow off the cobwebs, and repost for Hallowe'en.

Sandra..

As the moon becomes the clouds
of darkest night in quaking fear
and dread departs flow of shrouds
in wait of the pumpkin's leer

Sounds like a plan to me...

Thanx...

Noah....keep a light on tonite!!

Nancy...Waterbed?   Who is it,  the poster
boy,  still a poster??   LOL

KRJ...yes,  put it on the docket for one
week prior to Halloween...

From out of the gloom of dark
into the wane of distant light
the words will haunt, be stark
whence again returns the fright

As ground of graves open let
the turn of hand gray in chill
the boogey man will them get...
He's gonna,  I'll bet you he will

The chill of howl and shriek
shall scurry down the soul
as bumps will rise and peak
when the dead in night do stroll
