Why white?

Drag me away from it please!

I am no soldier of virginity

Paint me up and pretty me
like some china doll
so pale
so very pale

except for my thoughts
I’m not afraid of your sun.

White
is for
magnolias
on slow cricket eves
blooming wide
and waxy
Heavy
like the moon’s belly
full of lovers
wishing on Venus
for more

White
is for those pearls
The ones that wrap tight
round l'il ladies
that find no time
to loosen
the rest of their pleasure

Reminds me of swans
Gives me reason to drift
but not to run and jump
I need skin
thoroughbred sin
and sugar
the Southern kind

with a l'il salt
and lime

off white sands under
dark bay skies

I could even smell this...

White
is for
magnolias
on slow cricket eves
blooming wide
and waxy
Heavy
like the moon’s belly
full of lovers
wishing on Venus
for more

as well as hear it...

beautiful writing, Regina

only you could come up with that image so awesome and lovely in its intensity.
No..no white...no vanilla...unless of course its white chocolate with RASPBERRY

(smiles) WOW!!! Oh my gosh, I love it, yes, yes, may true love reflect more than just the color white in your heart and bring a rainbow of passion to you, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Regina, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

ms regina, inspiring...
enjoyed the pure and the hidden of your work
makes me think of a contrast to this view

do you like the scent of dark leather
when it is wicked fresh
and presses to the seams
of white like night to day

when it spoils and soils
indiscreetly and makes visible
the under edges of pure
then colors them scarlet

do you feel the temptation
of perhaps we can be bad
and love the residue of sin
that drips from our tarnish

do the eyes of wolf soot seduce you
til your garment's shimmer
is far less to the mind
then the morning panting howls?

does your caution gray in my whiteless shadows?

Excellent!

I really liked this one a lot. It still breathes soft and warm, but seems... stronger than some of your others (with the exception of the last one i commented on, i think... that's my fave of yours so far).

i LOVE this. twisting things around is not only fun, but also provides for rumination. Again, Excellent.

One minor thing - can you change "lil" to "l'il"? looks funny.

"heavy like the moon's belly" now many think of the face of the moon, thanks for a fresh feel to that.

Regina....

Nothin could be Finer
than your words simmer
that boils the steam
from my soul's skin

YOU do know how to say hot in a hundred
different ways...

Christopher: Hmmm..I suppose the distinction of slang lends a certain "je ne sais quoi" to the norm of writing. I enjoy the way it sounds..and savor it as the diction of my roots. The "stuff" I speak when angry or impassioned~wink* I honestly appreciate your suggestions. And you'll see more thangs slangin' about in my poetry..please do tell me what you see.

Sincerely,
Reg
