When it comes to their children,
Daddy's always want to know best.
And kids have a way of proving it,
By often putting them to the test.

It starts with ice cream for breakfast,
And ends with them staying out too late.
But daddy always knows what's best,
And it makes them feel so great.

But don't let that image trick you,
There comes a time they fail the test.
Daddy's don't know anything,
About putting their kids to rest.

No, Larry, we truly do not.  I hope if I ever have to go through this, that I will have you to help me through it.  Thank you so much for your courage.  It is quite an example for the rest of us.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Larry, God Bless You, your love for your Ginger is one of the strongest I've ever known from any father to a child's heart; she will never forget you and her love will always go on, as your love alone can always bring her to rest, blessed to know she will always have a true loving father in her heart! (big hugggssssss) My thoughts are with you to give you the strength to endure this time, dearest friend!

Love,

No, that's for sure, Larry. How can they? It has to be a father's (and mother's) worst nightmare....unimaginable to those who haven't experienced it. I wish you both the strength to get through it...

I hope that no one ever figures out how to do that, Larry. You're in my prayers.

You're strength is admirable at such times.. we can all learn from your example just what you've mentioned..and life works its strange ways, alas.

I cannot imagine the unbearable pain of having to put your little girl to rest (she’s always your little girl, no matter how old). My heart, my prayers, go out to you Larry.

So, you watched Father Knows Best. But they never warned you about this. And this is something no parent should ever know anything about. Love and hugs to you, always.

I only have the one child, a daughter and I know that I don't really know the depth of your grief but my sympathies go out to you from the bottom of my heart! May your faith strengthen you to continue on and make a difference in the lives of all who are still there with you!

Larry,
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss.  You and your family will be in my family's prayers.  May God strengthen you, comfort you, and give you peace.  Live in the faith and trust of knowing that you will one day be with her again in heaven.  Your poetry to her is as beautiful as the angels singing to her in heaven.
May God Bless You

That's because it's not supposed to happen.

Lay your head upon my shoulder
And let your tears flow free
I'll put my arms around you friend
You will not be alone you see

My word.
this has truly touched me deeply..... and i dont know what to say....
I am my fathers daughter, his youngest, i think his love for me is as yours is for your daughter, and I truly love him back. he is such an important person to me, he is in my life, and he who i look upto and i think that you must have been for your daughter.... such love is rare.
keep well and keep breathing, it's hard....

very nice poem, is she your real daughter?
This has a sentimental touch to it that I find charming.
