We didn't know her not at all
Except through Father Larry's eyes
Each word he wrote strong, proud and tall
Told of a girl that was his prize
The pieces grew and each one fit
We learned of her a little bit

We didn't know her, no not much
We saw her through her father's smile
We heard compassion though his touch
And saw the portrait grow awhile
We didn't know her that's for sure
But as he wrote we knew her more

We didn't know the day to day
The things that make a father proud
But we knew the things he'd say
We heard them often proud and loud
We grew to know her somewhat more
And grew in love of his adore

We didn't know the day would come
When she would leave and go away
We didn't think her day now done
Would be bereft of words to say
A poet's write is poet's song
And through his words her light goes on

We met a girl from father's pride
And now we share the pain inside

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Keth darling sister of my heart you are arrayed in compassion’s gown tonight, your heart and hand reach out to touch Larry and I can feel the wonderment of knowing so many people care about him.

When sorrow falls on our hearts like it has for Larry, often the only thought we have is that we cannot get through this dark time. You have lit a light for Larry, something his eyes can cling to when the darkness seems all encompassing.  Thank you for this beautiful poem, it carries within it something very rare and incredibly precious. It carries a light of hope and the knowledge Ginger Michele will always live in that light.

Take care Larry, Thank you darling heart for gifting him with light

How very beautifully penned Kethry.
We do indeed share Larry's pain..
in the loss of his daughter,
who we came to know through his words.
Thank you for saying something
that is in all of our hearts.

Kethry

Such a tender message for a father to read...to let him know he showed her picture around til we feel his lose in such a real way.  This was written by a beautiful heart.

What lovely words of comfort you have written for Larry, and how true they all are. Yes, we all heard a little about his precious daughter, and how proud she made her Pop’s. what a lovely thing you have penned Kethry.

Keth that you have taken the time to create such a superbly crafted poem to offer in some way comfort to Larry shows without doubt how compassionate and loving you are. Beautiful writing and amazing sentiments, but over all the love you feel for Larry C must give his soul some measure of comfort in a time of inconsolable grief

lots of love

In this poem... and especially in the closing couplet... you've summed up what so many of us are feeling. This is a beautiful write of compassion, Kethry.

Larry, though I don't know you, I pray for God's healing and that time will help ease your pain....I know I'm usually little more than a smart ass, but truly I'm so sorry for your loss...perhaps in time's healing and God's help you'll soon perhaps smile again....again, my deepest sympathy....Toe
