I have decided in advance,
Not to leave it up to chance.
Since my daughter died today,
I won't have it any other way.

My heart will never mend,
No matter how things may end.
It happened without warning,
So I am left here to my mourning.

I've seen it happen to others,
To both fathers and mothers.
I would try to express my regret,
But I couldn't understand...yet.

Well, now I have that broken heart,
With feelings that will never part.
Today my only daughter died,
And oh the tears that I have cried.

It should never happen like this,
My girl that I will always miss.
But to all who know this loss,
I too now carry that same cross.

Larry, I wish that cross got lighter with time but I don't think it does. One has to feel happiness for the time you did have together and try to shut out the bitterness and unfairness that she was taken too soon. These are the times faith was created for, I think. I wish you the very best, sir...

Larry...This is a very sad club that you have just joined. Its a club that should never even have a reason to exist...but unfortunately.......well, you know the rest, and its too hard to say, with tears clouding my eyes right now.

Larry, you gave her the greatest gift of your love and devotion, and many daughters do not receive that from a father. I have no idea what makes such a tragedy happen, I have lost older loved ones only, and that hurts a lot. My mind cannot even imagine how hard this is.
