Today a shadow fell upon my heart,
That has come to stay.
And the cruelest part,
Is that I can't make it go away.

Today a shadow came into my life,
Without warning it was here.
And the hardest part,
Is it came with many tears.

Today the shadow grew so dark,
As it overtook my space.
And the toughest part,
It won't ever leave this place.

Today the darkness came on early,
For it crowded out the sun.
And the awful truth is know,
It has only just begun.

Today is dimmer from now on,
Since my daughter died.
And the saddest thing of all,
"I can't trade with her", I cried.

Larry darling boy this is a heart wrenching time for you, conveyed excellently in your writing.

Take care my dear friend, you are in my thoughts and prayers right now, and I’ve lit a candle to carry my prayers to HIS ears.

Larry...what Kacy said, goes for me too!

We are all one big family here, and when you lost your dear daughter, we all lost her.

Its just so very hard and it will probably get harder before it gets easier...

Its horrible when something that was never supposed to happen, happens

And I have always wondered why these things always seem to happen to the people who least deserve them.

But I'm glad that you are here with us, we are your family and we will put our arms around you and comfort you and we will cry with you.
~ great big teary hugs

Hello, Arrry. This is so very beautiful.  I have never been a parent etc, and therefore can not truly understand the magnitude of what has happened.  I have always seen your name on here but, forgive me, there is such a huge vollome of material on here ... I would probably have never read your poem if Midnitesun had not written me.  Perhaps, throu you, I may come to know and love her too.
BTW----which name did she preffer? ... and was she teased about it?
Peace

although i am not usually one to quote from the bible, i will this time.
quote:
And taking the child by the hand, he saith unto her, Talitha eumi; which is, being interpreted, "Damsel, I say unto thee, Arise."  -Mark 5-41

sometimes, when God says Arise, he means to take them to rejoin His light.

Dear Larry
Ms. Chadwick was are teacher at Bothell High School.  She was a very nice, smart, fun and kind hearted person.  She had a very glowing personality and wanted everyone to be treated equally and with respect.  We looked forward to coming to her class each day and seeing her smile.  She had a way with students that made them want to learn, and made learning fun.  Ms.  Chadwick was uniqe and very gifted.  We want  you to know how much she will be missed by all of us and will never be forgotten.  She will hold a place in our hearts forever.

Dear Dear Larry, I came on here today to post, but I just cannot. I am so very very sorry for your loss. You know I have been there and I still am there. It's like someone pulled the rug from under you. I clicked on the link and saw your daughters picture, What a beautiful woman she is..I only know one thing Larry, If not for God I would not be here today, As He is the only one who could comfort me and hold me up. My prayers are with you and your family. I will continually pray for you all.. It is so hard to express just how I feel. I am so saddened byt your loss. I know the tragedy of a sudden loss. It is such a shock, You take care of yourself and your family. Stay close to God, and remember that we all love you dear poet friend..God bless you and comfort you as only He can do..Love, Floria

Floria,
Thank you dear friend. I know how much you understand my broken heart. But I need for you to know how many pieces of that broken heart have been reassembled this week.

The impact of Ginger's life on so many means so much. I am bursting with awe and pride of such incredible proportions. It is truly humbling. When the whirlwind is over and I am back home I will write of what I have learned. There is so much. Thank you for your love and support, always.
