To my baby...I'll always love you and now you're gone for good. May 18, 2002 at 4:45 p.m. Ginger Michelle died at 28.

She Left Me
By Larry Chadwick

My baby done left me,
She grew up and went away.
I hated when that happened,
But it ain’t right to make her stay.

I knew that it was time,
She had to make her own way.
Little girls are like that,
It ain’t right to make them stay.

My baby done left me,
It was time for her to go.
But even though she’s gone,
Lord, how I love her so.

February 4, 2002

That's almost how it happened! This is for my fabulous daughter Ginger who lets me call her Toots. I love you baby! And always will. Pops

Larry, we are a poor substitute for Michelle, but the least we can do is let you and your family know that she will live on in your hearts and minds...and because you are a poet, and a writer, she will live on in our lives as well...

hello..
that i such a beautiful poem, it really touched me.... and I am very sorry to hear of anyones loss, but somehow yours has made a deeper impression on me... My thoughts with you.....

something that has helped me and given me hope is a scripture in Revelation 20:4 =

I remember when you posted this the first time, Larry....
It was so cutely sad back then....

now it is acutely sad

It really rips my heart into shreds...Please be well, Larry, and remember that she will always be alive in your heart
and although I know you would rather have her here with you, her spirit is still somewhere where she can watch over her dearest Pops

~ loving hugs

Larry...There is never a goodbye to someone that you love, for I have learned through the death of my daughter, Michelle, that they are always with you...always..but in such a very different and often heart breaking way.

This poem is so touching and dear..I hope you find poetry helps to ease your grief as it has mine.  Hugs!

Thank you all. The agony of the duel application of this poem touched my heart last night with such mercy for written proof that Ginger knew exactly how much I loved her. She as a high school English teacher and her daddy's biggest poet fan.

Larry...I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your daughter.  You will be in my prayers and all of your family. Your poem was a loving and lasting tribute to the memory of your wonderful and precious daughter. May God wrap you in His arms of comfort and ease your depth of sorrow.

Larry, I remember reading this. It was sad, then. It's even sadder, now. With tear filled eyes, I say to you once more, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.
