Listening to every heart

Inadequacies

There is no comprehension
in a loss
of any kind

Whether, in the scheme of things,
it is imagined little,
or large,

to the loser

it is All.

We hear of one’s loss,
we shield our own hearts.

How much can we take
when we know we haven’t even
begun to bring it all within?

Sometimes, we do not even
let ourselves
grieve appropriately

For we would want to die in doing so,
the pain is that profound.

And we realize, He is not ready for us yet.

Then we hear of someone who needs us.

So our fingers grasp and claw
at words or phrases
to inadequately share our sorrow

But just know

I did my best, all that I could
when I said

I am so sorry ~
you are in my thoughts and prayers

Someday, you may feel as inadequate
as I do now.

Just know, even by your silent gaze,
and mute clasp of hand, I will understand.

Dear Sunshine, our inadequacies are human qualities, none of us perfect, in a world of non perfection, just its possibilities.
We do what the heart tells and deal with situations in the best ways that we can. Our ways are by the pen, and those words translate our feelings more than the spoken ones will ever.

Well written, much enjoyed.

Sincerely Rick

Karilea, life is so precious..
and can be gone in the blink of an eye.
When something unexpected or unexplained happens
we do our best to comfort those left behind.
At times there are no words...
and no words are expected.
Just 'being there' for the person or persons is enough...
even though we wish we could do more.
~Hugs...luv you.~

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Karilea, this is so very emotionally powerful, sweet friend, I believe just the thought of someone bring there for you and caring for you sincerely is all someone needs to be supported and we are always entitled the option to help them and relate to how they feel too if we possess that skill! (kiss on cheek) This is so very touching, sweet friend, we are always here for you when you need someone to talk to and that's a guarantee, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

You are wonderful poets, and I am sure you all realize, this was not for me, but only by me for one of our members, in hopes that he and his will feel the love that we have for them, even when we cannot find just the right way to express ourselves...

thank you.

no more earnest the quest
words of all compassion
seeking only a glimpse to offer
a turning of the head other sights
in persepctive to see sharing only hope
in our human inadequacy

I have yet to discover any inadequacies in the depth of feeling displayed in this poem of pure love and compassion, or in anything you've ever posted. And the amount of warmth from poets at this site could melt the glaciers.

Kari hi there that you have taken the time to create such a superbly crafted poem to offer in some way comfort to Larry shows without doubt how compassionate and loving you are. Beautiful writing and amazing sentiments, but over all the love you feel for Larry C must give his soul some measure of comfort in a time of inconsolable grief

lots of love

Hello Karilea

Your words were so moving and very heartfelt.  I guess we all seem helpless in a situation such as this and we look for words that may bring comfort.  I have no doubt that Larry felt comfort from your beautiful words.

Take care......Sue
