The Shores of Alone

She weaves around us seamlessly
with no concern for what is wrought
a balance act most delicate
time stand alone while we cannot.

A rose strewn path we walk today
but quickly do the flowers die
time pushes us past memories
all in the barest blink of eye.

She slides through hope, past fantasy
without least bit of thoughtful care
she turns our lives to what was not
just reminiscences of where.

Time turns her hourglass upon
our road of life, we have no part
of how she shifts and ebbs and flows
time gently paints, sculpting fine art.

As  shadow passes over wall
so does the travel of a clock
from the moment of our life's call
to the sail of souls upon dock.

She whispers softly in a tune
that lulls us to a bit of sleep
as months of pass take of the moon
into our dreams of waking keep

Born as a child to be now grown
as our hourglass does then fill
Time stays beside, not once alone
til' whence a last beat is then still.

Excellent poem Sandra...You always do
write so elegantly well....

Thank You...

Ah, but sands will pause in beauty
And linger to the trill of dusk
In stillness rests the heart estutely
Then to cast away this useless husk

Sandra, Couldn't help it...this was truly inspirational and an immortal measure of your beautiful talent. ThisDiamond

Gorgeous writing about a truth which we are helpless to change!

Wouldn't it be lovely if we could control time?

Dear Sandra, Enjoyed the read tonight, keep smiling and time will find space for you to enjoy and remember.

Time is but the keeper of the moments that do pass
The time we're given passes slowly through the hour glass
So wait no longer for your time to come for this is it
Your happeness is what you find, not in the pit you sit

Well written, Sandra, especially the last stanza!  I always find pieces of myself in your poetry...you know I know you know

Take care,
