Almost Remembered

On the edge of a think
my profound can't forget
before it took the illusion

sailing away the false colors
mirages of mirrors of pain
pieces still sticking like yesterdays

trapped in the vapors of night
but clinging...the pieces so hopeless
my edges infused and confused
blurred of the real

wanting it back once more...
the ethereal
stretching into the reverie

dragging out only a ragged fragment
a quivering lost thought...
almost remembered

Lyra

Oh, I loved this swirl of you...not lost, I think, but reborn, and beautiful.

(smiles) Oh Lyra, this is wonderful, sweet friend, this reminded me of Sigmund Freud and what he offered to the world; the advance in psychology and tracing the unconscious of the mind to remembering again! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Thanks for your kind words, Martie...
I know that the poem is a bit abstract so I really didn't think anyone would figure it out...
But its related to the other poem I posted the other day called "Night People"

Its about waking up from a dream and the way it just fades so fast...I always try to reach back and grab it, but all I can ever find is just a worn fragment of it...and I always think about how that dream is "almost remembered"

You're close, Noah...its about the psyche but its about letting go of your dreams in the morning when you wake up.

I always try to hang on to that last fragment so that I can try to remember the dream...and I never can...but I always say...I "almost remembered" it.

Barry...you figured it out...I know its a bit abstract, so I didn't think anyone would figure it out...

When I wake up in the morning I always think I will remember my dreams, but they fade away so fast and I just reach in and try to grab it, but all I get is just a fragment...and so its "almost remembered:

I didn't know this was a contest...but I guess you've won!

Marsha...thanks so much for replying to this terribly abstract and almost unfiguroutable poem...
If you read the above responses, you'll see that its about trying to hold onto my dreams when I wake up.
I probably made it a bit too abstract.

Thanks so much, Nancy...I'm so glad that you enjoyed it...
Were you able to figure it out?

I probably shouldn't write in such an abstract manner....this was sort of an experiment.

Thanks Sandra...Do you think its too abstract?  I'm not used to writing this way, so this was an experiment and I didn't think anyone would understand what I was talking about....or does that really matter?

I started out writing sing songy rhyming poems...which I still like to write occasionally, then I dabbled a bit in free verse, but this is the first really abstract one I've ever written...I'm glad you like it and I hope you're feeling a lot better.
