Does It Even Matter

Look in the mirror
Getting Older by the day
Still times roll on

The kids have all grown
Walking their own path in life
Again, leaves change

Just the two of us
Is there anything to say?
Is love still alive?

The grass still gets mowed
The trees getting older
What's it all for

Does it even matter
Anymore

Just pondering what it all would be like when growing old?

The poem has a strong tendency to indifference, almost apathy and alas I think you'll find it in many a relationship.
They just give up.

You may not like it as you said, yet I think the sadness of comes out strong.

I like it

Well, artists can be very poor judges of their own work.  I liked this, because it conveys the emotion of apathy, as Titia said, very well.  It also has the sense of peaceful boredom, but anxiety as well.  Thanks for the nice read.

WOW !  There are so many who ask themselves that question at that crossroad in life~

Nicely conveyed~

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Connie, I camn feel such sadness and apathy in this, sweet friend, my heart goes out to you and things indeed age through time, but your heart will grow richer in love every day and in the end you will have love shine in your heart bolder than ever before! (sigh) This is touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Connie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Of course it matters, always! I liked the poem, it captured the blahs that people often get at the half-way mark. Before the accelorator gets stuck and here we go down the hill!

Connie...

I felt this once....when I had been promoted
to the highest position I could go...sitting
there...looking into myself and saying...
"Now What?".......

I also can relate from the same perspective
of this poem...As we age,  we sometimes
look into that personal crystal ball and
wait to see....

Personal or not,  this is perfectly penned
of a very familiar emotion and feeling.
