Yours Alone

I have no voice in this my life,
no choice in loss of it this way.
It pains me deep, for I can't say
those three words, of want today.

Only whispers pass these lips
and even those cannot be heard.
And so I must adore you in
the promise of my rhyming word.

I love to say the love you words
but if in silence I must do,
into these eyes you can be drawn
and see the truth, my love for you.

It undermines my daily tasks
and overrides each waking thought.
I have no voice but need no sounds
as lips express the feelings sought.

Tomorrow is another day,
I'll kiss this night in shadows wake.
My voice will whisper lovingly,
"These lips are yours, alone, to take."

A nice whispered prayer that reminds me of Prince's Joy in Repetition. SEA might know what I'm talking about. Then again, do *I* know what I'm talking about?

hmm......

Always enjoy yr thoughts, Maureen.

Maureen darling girl, I could say that this was good but it’s not…… it’s utterly utterly wonderful.

Tomorrow is another day,
I'll kiss this night in shadows wake.
My voice will whisper lovingly,
"These lips are yours, alone, to take."

These lines are utterly utterly exquisite I love the flow of this divine poem well done darling girl very very well done. You know I love this utterly don’t you? Good I do

Hey, we can't exchange dustings! I'm too old for you.

Feel better, Maureen.

Its too bad that  none of those samples worked, Maureen...but at least you didn't have to pay for them.

I remember one time I had laryngitis...and my mother said that my family must be very happy about that because they'd finally get some peace and quiet. LOL but she really meant it!

I really loved your poem and hope you feel better soon.

Lyra, considering when I was in elementary school and they wrote in my autograph book in 3rd grade,
Roses are red
clover is green,
your mouth runs
like a sewing machine..you can imagine everyone around me is very happy *s

thanks for the hugs, and the samples  may work..they just need more time..the laryngitis  started before I went to the Drs..
