Ancient Songs

Clover
above moody dark moss

Listen
love is two geese rippled

Ducklings gaggle
next to vultures hunch of nonchalance

Sky silt cloaks the tender hills
water         they ask
their voices are brittle
the gathering children are not listening

Hear ancient songs
like rocking mothers
the lapping water strokes inner skin
whispers        watch me
ride the hump of me
I am the breath of earth
I laugh in wings across reflection
You cannot disturb me with your rippling shadow

I am grace
you are transparent
your noise evaporates
into the hole in sky

while I hold the moon

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, I love this, sweet friend, I thought of the full moon reading this as the stars dusted the skies with the whispers you filled in these words! (kiss on cheek) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, we all love you so much, this is timeless! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Martie-girl this is such a cool poem!!
Love the mix of images and urgency to capture the moment of emotions.
very cool indeed!

How long can a girl be haunted by you ...
Soon I'll grow up and I wont even flinch at your name.

In this
I see the hole in the cave
            where hearts live
            to sing songs
of old times

the ledge of trespass
                            juts out
                              like stepping stones

leading us to you

I love most songs ... and I loved this one, too

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
