I don't claim to have lived a life so clearly defined, but I have no complaints. This is not biographical and I have nothing to whine about. Yet as a company fails I watch friends struggle...

Life’s Mystery
By Larry Chadwick

If every king has his kingdom,
And each king has his throne.
So where might that leave me,
I wonder when I’m all alone?

If every dancer has his floor,
And every dance its song.
So where might that leave me,
When I can only sing along?

If every Prince has his Princess,
And a castle they call home.
So where might that leave me,
With no royalty to call my own?

If every artist has his Mona Lisa,
And each artisan his art.
So where might that leave me,
When I know not where to start?

If each architect has his drawing,
And their building they design.
So where might that leave me,
When a home I cannot find?

If all are well defined by trade,
And each at his role is so adept,
Where might that leave me,
When at life I am proved inept?

I'm glad this isn't about you, Larry...

It sounds like someone in search of his/her inner self...
maybe thats what happens to people when their company fails and they lose their jobs.

~lots of hugs

yep thats about how it happens when it happens Larry.  It is hard to go through, and to watch others go through.  Nice write.

Larry darling boy this was as usual for you utterly utterly wonderful. The style is pure you, the execution, the flow, the rhyme are all perfect. I think this is without doubt one of your finest. Your fine handiwork is in this utterly stunningly powerful piece of utter wonder. Truly outstanding writing

And you know I love it utterly

Larry,

You have no idea how close this hits home right now I can relate strongly. Well done.

Larry C...

I believe IF it were I,  I would be mulling
over all of what you have written...  I am
thankful that I have never (Knock on wood)
had an experience like this...

Excellent poem!  The old adage that "everything happens for a reason" is annoying in times like these.  Takes courage to find the answers to the questions that you posed.

Thanks for posting.

Lyra,
When a person is forced out of the box in which they have become comfortable and are compelled to consider a change...not all feel they have options, even if they should or could. It's tough to be pushed out of the box. Thanks.

Donna,
Time to make ones friendship and support completely available, for sure. Thanks.

Mushy,
I think, dear girl, you could fit in any box. And for sure you could always be supportive. Bless you.

Tara,
It has in fact, many years ago, applied to me. So, by confession, I do know the process from experience. It can indeed be overcome.
Feel free to email me. Best of wishes to you...

Magnus,
Always nice to have that wood handy. IF it were to be you...you would overcome I'm sure! Thanks.

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!

Nancy Lee,
And at times overwhelming! But it can be managed with courage and creativity. Thanks.

Lauren,
Thanks for the hugs and the understanding. Bless you...always!

Lori,
Life is far better than I deserve. BUT I'll take it. Just like you I'm on to new things and still in the landing pattern. Never a dull moment, as you know. Bless you and thanks.

Shenachie,
You couldn't be more right. But none the less it can be managed. Lots of patience and a heavy dose of creativity and a dash of humor. LOL Thanks.
