You Are The First Person Who Ever Loved Me

by Lyra Nesius...for my Mother with love

You are the first person who ever loved me
your body was the fertile soil providing nurture
for the embryonic pieces of love joining together as one
creating my newborn self

You are the strong thread
running through the colorful tapestry of my life
your's was the first stitch in the weaving
creating my life from yours

You are the music
playing softly in the background of the symphony of my life
you were the singer of the very first note
creating chords of harmony from chaos

You are the strength
providing the inspiration for my poetic musings
you taught me to speak my very first words
creating passion from pen and paper

You are my mother
you taught me to love, with warm hugs and Mother Goose
you were the role model of my childhood
creating a strong woman from an awkward child

You are the first person who ever loved me

Lyra this is a wonderful and touching tribute to your mother..heartfelt and written with such lovely phrasing and expression. I love the theme of this....
its so true..."the first person who loved me"
that encompasses so many truths.
This beautiful poem needs to be in a Mothers Day card on store shelves.
