Lessons Of Heart

I could if I would to give you a fright
Write of dark shadows crawling through night
Or give myself up to the pain that’s within
Talking to demons who rip at my skin
If I were the sort who spoke of this hell
That writhes in a soul, which doesn’t feel well
But I’m not going to write of these things
I’m seeking the place where happiness sings

I could if I would let my soul sink down
To cede to the thought to let it all drown
I could give up this endless fight
Letting my soul taste the despair of night
Or ignore the voice that’s calling me
Then watch my heart drown in hell’s sea
But I won’t allow my heart to go there
I’ll seek it a place to shelter in care

I could if I would cease this weary strife
Simply stop wading through this river of life
Let the waves of sorrows crash over me
Flounder unheeded in storm’s misery
Or black out the light that shone so bright
To wallow in sorrow through soul’s dark night
But I won’t be walking that path once more
I’ll learn lessons of heart that teach me to soar

Marsha

To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace Luke 2:79

And you will soar Marsha, much enjoyed this one!

.....it's up to us where we end up and where we choose to go,
and how we cope in the here and now.

Nice writing Marsha~ darling girl!!
Each word lifted a little higher off the ground.

Good gosh girl..who's teaching whom?  Tell our Emma good morning, as well as to Krissy...it was quite pleasant seeing all of the Mushy women out and about yesterday!

And this?  Better 'n better all the time!

Self Pity can be such a terrible way of
taking the wind out of one's own sails....

NO Mushy,  you certainly do not need to ever
let yourserlf do that....

Bring out the strong wench...and get rid of
all of it!!!!!

Marsha,
You are a smile that was born.
And to me have smiled every morn.
You are a talented writer.
