Empty
by WhiteKnight

Footsteps echo in the empty corridors of my soul.
I wander through the loneliness of my mind.
Nagging feelings pulling me back, back to the gloom.
Unresolved issues surface, destroying the calm Facade of my existence.
Cataclysmic events shattered my very being.
Pieces of life and soul lay everywhere as blood pools on the floor.
Life? Nothing more than torture, knowing I am truly alone,
stuck forever in the quagmire of my insanity.

Dreams of happiness and fun dance before me tempting, but always out of reach.
The laughter of the others like knives in my chest as they gloat,
knowing I suffer as they run free.
I remember long ago before I came here, when first we met.
Not understanding, I let her lead me into the light, let her show me happiness.
She stole all I had, I will never get it back, now there is nothing where once was my heart.
Pain, hurt, confusion rules. Having lost my heart I yearn to be near her,
to be where my heart is.
The jealousy racks me as I sit in the depression longing for that which will never be.
She has left me now, all that's left is the footsteps in the empty corridors of my soul.

This is beautiful in its sadness and I  know these feelings at this very moment.

Wonderful write White Knight.

This is achingly beautiful and, I, too, know this raw depth of emotion well.  You've moved me greatly with this~

Take care,
