My mind is feathered
Floating unhindered from its shell
Upon currents of free wills
Escaping the shackles that bind
To gravitational pressures
Of every day life crippling expression

I visualize a universe free to explore
The endless horizons of internal beauty
With stimulus that massages thoughts
In the expanse of contributing to yourself
Riding high on a plain of self esteem

Why is it I cherish this isolation
That makes my mind think so
That I can somersault over invisible barriers
To create mental enthusiasm
Spreading my wings so magically

I want to levitate with the energy within
To take my physical being higher
And repel the confinement of norms
To reinvent myself into a blossom
Unique to myself

So I will create my own masterpiece
Within my isolated space
To bring back things to share, if you will
Upon clouds of imagination
Electrifying words so simple
That they expand before you
In a breath of fresh air
Re-circulating in such simplicity

For my journey within is lost
For the rudder of real existence
Is floundering ready to capsize
For the road is all too lonely
But the rainbow of purpose
Is just over the hill

In that awakening I might
Rock the ship
And jettison my dreams
Of golden words
Being repeated
In the tears of others
Finding themselves
Looking inside for feathers
To glide within they’re own paradise

Added thought:
Give me strength in my weakness
Depth in my shallowness
But most of let me float free

Dave,
I loved the poignancy of this but it was sad too.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

We always seek out new worlds when the real one is too hard to live in. Thanks for the gift of yours.....

BRAVO!!! This is a powerful poem about the desire to fly away from here and seek dreams and somersault to new horizons, sweet friend, sometimes reality too can be so blurry to me and I wish I too could get lost in my dreams! (sigh) You always write of emotions so wonderfully, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
