Between the Lines

LifeLines

I can't help it,
how I feel about you.
Sometimes wondering
why I can't break away,
yet wanting to be
even nearer than close.

There is no magic to us,
we are who we are,
two, alone in this world,
confined to ourselves
but secretly wanting more.

I am restless
when nighttime comes
because I know
my mind will be filled
with dreams of you
and all I can do
is see you behind closed eyes,
hold you in my thoughts,
kiss you in whispers
seeking to reach you somehow,
hoping you are dreaming for two.

I will never regret our shared moments
and will never lose hope,
but I wonder
if I kissed you deep enough
to touch you
where I can't be forgotten.
I wonder
if my eyes with their secrets
gave enough insight
of my emotional ties to you,
the tears, the hurt of the past,
the smiling whenever you appear.

What lies between us
is a lifeline stretched taut
at the moment,
making it hard to balance
more than one day at a time.
I am patient, knowing the value in "us"
and I am rewarded
each morning, when my heart feels
the presence of your words.

(sigh) I suppose only time can answer these concerns, sweet friend, I hope he truly has kissed the depths of your heart and you and him will share a lifetime of joy together forever! (big hugggssssss) This is beautifully heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Maureen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I understand this so very well and you were able to convey these thoughts so much better than I ever could.  Just wonderful!

M...one of the hazards of poetry...is
interpretation...

That is the magic and mystery of poetry...

You are a master of the mystery...

Thank You..
