Yellow Butterfly

Watched a yellow butterfly
Light upon a lilies lie
Facing up into the sun
Replacing daffodils undone.

Moving on the yellow gold
Fluttering slow on the fold
Put a smile on lilies face
With fragile wings of fragile grace

Gave my heart a poke a stir
Suffering on the smallest burr
Shook the shadows of my mind
Brought a light I would not find.

And there I read a message sent
By wings of grace on lilies vent
Shot an arrow into despair.
Stroked my heart in loving care.

That lifted up a curtains gray
And brought the sunshine to my day.

sy? I just had to light on this one...

even before I came here, butterflies,
gave me special insight...and? the yellow butterfly...smiling in the memory, told me of "change" and? yes, indeed, grinning wide now, I WAS PREGNANT. And yep. I saw this butterfly twice. After, I was told...I could not hold a cocoon at all.

Hugging myself and loving you for this one.
Oh hell..I'll hug you and love ME twice--who cares if it's redundant?

And what that flutterby did for you ...
is the same that each day you do too.
Each morn you bring soft sighs of poetic light ...
as you sing to us of beloved butterflies in flight.

Be it written upon dragon or butterfly wings
We warm in the wisdom that your gifted words bring.

Why should love come down and just sweep me away
I want to fly ... but there are so many things in my way.

A Beautiful spring tradition, when the butterflys come. And I agree, they can cheer me up too. I mean look at the transformative powers of a caterpillar.
Love this, Sy.

Seymour hi there this as mum says, a rare treat to seek out. Your writing is always so special and I don’t say that just to copy mum but because I know really good writing when I see it, and this is it. Well written I love it, and yes the words are beautiful, as is the presentation. This is stunning and something very special. The way this follows the line is exquisite

How often nature has poked me in the heart as well, and reminded me that there are so many little things out there to smile  about.  This is a keeper for sure.  Thank you for the little poke this morning poet sir

Shook the shadows of my mind
Brought a light I would not find.

Yes, they do that and more for us with their fragile beauty. Enjoyed. Chris

Seymour my dearest friend you  have an amazing wonderful talent, and this is very special. Sometimes and it’s rare a thought leaps between the eye and heart and connects with the inner self. How often you write something that is outstanding and stirs the soul. How frequently your words strike the harmonics of memory in my heart. I love this utterly utterly love it. Beautiful writing darling heart. I swear that if I could see my soul it would have written in indelible ink across it Seymour sings me
