Words Aren't Enough

In the early hours of morning, I sit here and think of you
The night we just had together comes flashing back, though I smile...I also am feeling blue
The words "I love you" just aren't enough for you and me
Only when we hold each other will we set our spirits free

Though I love to hear your voice whispering sweetly in my ear
Only by seeing you and looking into your eyes will it ease my fear
We talk of tomorrow, of the day you and I will share forever
The pain lessens in our hearts for a moment, but still we yearn to be together

The love I feel inside my heart shines so bright
Not being beside you though I can feel the fading of that light
I am stretching out my hand to you, with my eyes closed as I sigh
Please darling know, that I'm holding on so tight, never do I want to say good-bye

This relationship though is at times so hard, the pain cuts so deep
Our conversations play through my mind as I sit at this table, when I should be asleep
We are making plans, and moving to the next stop of me and you
I just don't want to push you too hard, I want you to make the decisions for what YOU should do

I think about you and your daughter everyday, as I lay here 900 miles away
North Carolina and Texas might be far apart from one another, but in my heart is where you stay
Eyes closed, for a minute I see your face and it leaves me with peace inside
Then the tears I am fighting start to flow once again...just so hard to hide

The words aren't enough...I need to feel you in my arms sweet love
I keep praying, turning my life and the answers over to the Lord above
Please God...if you can make this any easier, I'm begging you to do so
She and I deserve this love we've found, that you led us to...its all up to you though

Shades of blue paint my soul tonight, I am down on my knees begging for mercy
I hope that though the words aren't enough, my love she can truly "see"
We will be together for a short time again, very soon...help me Lord find the words to say
To show her how much I love her now and everyday

"you can't stop
the rain
from pouring down
can't stop the
world from turning 'round
can't stop me from
loving you
no matter
what you do"

Words can't carry the weight of truth, it takes strong convictions to do that and a willingness to walk it through. Well done Aimster.

Amy lil sis / aunt / cousin/ You know I love this, but then yes like mum I’m a little biased. Not because I wub you, but because I know really good writing when I see it, and this is it. Well written I love it, and yes the words are beautiful, as is the presentation. This is stunning and something very special. The longing and the hunger that pulsate through this is stunning very well written

I wub you xxx

Amy~ I can relate far too well to this.....long distance relationships can be devastatingly hard to bear.  But if your love is true, somehow you'll get through it.  There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Beautifully written poetess.

*warm hugs*

Amy,

Once again, I like and understand all to well this poem.  As Dave said, it will be worth it when you get to go to sleep and wake up with the one you love Well done chickie.
