The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2002-05-07 10:16 PM

Immersed in documentaries
I live on borrowed memories
encased within a time gone by
the memories that will not die.

Read again old journals sadly
how fast happy days went madly
Such love and joy can not be gone
how could my life have gone so wrong?

Photographs standing for a life
Nothing but papers cut with knife
yet memories will not let go
I hang on in the hope to know.

Till then I borrow all my love
it is the stuff that life's made of.

Read this several times, and each another speechless moment. Bravely said, and honorably written. ThisDiamond

CatalinaMoon~
I knew by the lovely title it would be touching ... it is~

'encased within a time gone by
the memories that will not die.'

And the memories live on to serve us a slice of our hearts on another day~

Lovely~

And ya know what, Sandra...borrowed love is a lot safer!!  LMAO
Thanks for your concern, recently...I'm fine.  Just this ERFKAD's been giving me grief.  She wants to be the race car and I think she should be the shoe.  It's always something, ya know?

Memories are a powerful thing that have a way of keeping a hold on our heart.
I like to think the best is yet to come even if it's already gone!  *shrug*

Makes my heart ache, this one does. Well done sweet poetess. Chris

well done. . . but, does life go sadly??  or, do we just see it that way??

I read this poem and thought "Such a pretty, sad girl." Then I saw the picture and that confirmed it.

Take care.

Dear Sandra, another sad one, you should not be blue, but treat yourself to happiness and time out.

Enjoyed the read.

Sincerely Rick

Love is stuff that gets us through
Our hope, our dreams and song
Love it seems to mean so much
Our joy and what we long

But life is our experience
Our tutor of each day
And sorrow’s there to test us all
When all our clouds turn grey

Our past becomes our memories
Our future, time of hope
For somehow love to find us
And through it all to cope

Sandra,
A great poem!  I love your metaphors and the easy rhyming verse.  Nicely done.
