Who knows how long the pain?

Who knows how long
to heal the blows?
Who knows how deep
each heart wound goes?
Who knows
if sun shall
ever shine
through wind and rain
on southern pyne?

Who knows?

Daylight offers solace
that nightime rejects.
Dreams yield only screams
of anguish
and guilty regret.
Was it something I said?
Or something left
in half-dead
muffled silence,
me not wanting to be
the last one
to say those
three words?

Who knows?

Healing usually comes after aching.
But who knows how long it takes to go from a to h?  Thanks for your reply!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Kacy, this is so very sad, sweet friend, my heart goes out to you, and we may never know how long it will take to heal completely, but I know deep down with all my heart it is inevitable and the sun will shine out at some point! (kiss on cheek) This is sadly heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Hugs to you, Noah. Is it cruel for me to say I'm glad I'm not the one in pain this time?

James, that is so true. The rest of us can only guess, and perhaps remember a similar moment.

I think the pain comes from not knowing the reasons why and how, and at what point it went all wrong.  You wrote this awful nice, and I'm sorry that you're hurting kacy~

Yes, who knows indeed. Someone should make a special healing glue for broken hearts. Well maybe they do…it’s called the glue of friendship

Thanks to each of you.
Lyra, LOL at your reply.
Tracey, hope you write a poem about healing glue. What a line!
Duncan,
Blues, that has generally been my thoughts on the subject. I always want to know why, but have met many who didn't want to know, or maybe they just didn't want to believe.
Maureen, Thanks. Yes, maybe Tracey should post a healing glue poem.

Wow Kacy, this surely dredges up familiar aches...that painful regret of never knowing what went wrong, and the guilt that wounds the soul. Very well done!

Kacy,

i think some people are not brave or strong enough to face the truth..hence their contentment in dealing with a lesser reality...

it gets frustrating when those who want to know can't know because the others don't venture to know...

Kacy,
And the truth is life can just hurt, for all of us. How we heal is often a choice. Nice write. It felt like your own pain. You obviously understand it too well.

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!
