Toy boys don’t cry
just wind themselves up
and walk away
without an unkind word
or a backward glance

the dream was ours
but I never had a chance

It's okay
I would have loved you
even if I'd known

Duncan,

It's okay
I would have loved you
even if I'd known

I understand that way to well. Once again I can completely connect with your words.

Hugs,
Tara

That's the thing about loving, it goes deeper than what we know, and/or what we knew all along.    Damn again!!!

whenever i hear the phrase "better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all" (which is exactly what i thought before i even saw Bal's reply) i can't help but think of Tommy Lee Jones' response to Will Smith in Men in Black: "Try it." Not that i disagree with the phrase... i can say from experience that i agree with it - even losing the love, you gain growth.

Duncan - liked this. Toyboy was a good start... uhmm... the only thing i'd ask you to change is "backwards." just me, but i prefer these kind of words sans the 's' just sounds... cleaner.

Duncan,
That Balladeer always beats me to the line I would use. Good one.

Hey Duncan what's up? This is too sad. Write if you want to talk about it.

you are a wonderful writer

this piece eats my heart,
makes it bleed apart
from outside in,
inside out like a pin
had stuck myself with it,
the yearn and regret
and forget of it like a top
spinning on its head

i am not dead
and you are clearly so alive
your blood is leaking from the knife
you hold within your hand

pens can understand the pens
of other pens as long as Truth is fanned

(you inspired me.... i send you friendship and hugs and admiration for your writing and thank yous for always reading me....  it has meant a great deal.... thank you for letting me tag onto your post......you spontaneously inspired me... so sue me)

Actually, Duncan...when I was little, I had a doll which cried, but it also wet it's pants LOL

Sorry for the barb, I just couldn't resist. but this is really very sad

but you won't sit on that shelf, un-noticed for too long, Duncan...someone will notice what a sweet guy you are soon.
