Alone

I sit in silent thought
picturing the last time of you,
wondering why your arms
have their hold on me,
when there is no shadow
echoing their feel.

kind of a eerie feel to it ~ the thought of arms holding without a shadow ~ the hold is still strong within in the mind, yes?

Enjoyed!

I guess this is the feeling you get when the person you hold in your arms isn't the one you love... He seemed to have faded away, and his touch is no longer as warm and loving as before...

Maureen darling girl this is perfect, the flow absolutely excellent. You write so well darling girl, and I’m always left in amazement. Utterly utterly wonderful, as are you always. The ache in this is described so well, you can really write this feeling so well

Love and warm stuff

funny (strange) how the interpretation of what I meant turns out many times to be the opposite *s..but I thank you for the responses...

I meant to  relay the feelings of warmth and the hold of him being there despite the fact that I am alone..I had to reread my own poem  4 or 5 times to see why the responses differ.

(sigh) The way you just interpreted it was the way I too felt reading this, sweet friend, I felt a little sorrow in your words but also I felt the afterglow you had of the memories you share with him! (big hugggsssss) This is very touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Maureen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Ahhh, well, very gentle smile...my impression was that there was a smile there of fond memories, for those memories are held the closest..nicely done, as always is...

I believe it has something to do with the thoughts that stay with us when we feel that someone else cares for us...so even when we are alone we do not feel alone in this world...James

M,  this is very nice...and I took it to mean
as you thought it to be....That can be a
very wonderful feeling...Having that
closeness even when away from each other...

This is so beautiful, Maureen...
I often feel this way about my father or my late first husband.
Its as if they are really still here, but I can't see them.
I loved the poem ~lots of hugs
