Under the ledge of mount that stands before
a beast most fowl of fire does wait in lie
Against the odds of life and limb and more
one man of blood and steel awaits the cry

In darkened cave among the bones of prey
fierce lizard green does wait in sleep of when
a soul of strength most brave does come to slay
this demon winged by piercing heart through skin

A crunch of bones upon the floor does wake
the foe of man to be most careful then
for slaying is the chosen death to take
as dragon’s last foul breath is taken in

The steel is swung and strikes a mighty blow
as shrieks from in the gut of beast emit
Blood and bowel  from evil creature now flow
as flash of  steel does rend scaled  flesh to split

Shadow cast o’er the moon at sound of cry
as then a dragon soars in hunting flight
in want of heart of man as one must die
beneath the silver moon of  star filled night

Magnus darling boy this is utterly utterly perfect, you’ve really surpassed yourself this time. Normally your writing is superb, in this one poem you have painted a picture of such clarity that I can see the vision

This is exceptional writing, certainly I’ve come to expect the very best from you, creatively and in language form. This is a real beauty, and absolutely wonderful first class piece. YOU do know I LOVE this don’t you? Good it is splendiferous
