Obscuring the Sensible

All day I thought of you,
feelings obscuring the sensible.
At hand was an invitation of words
to move the barrier slightly to the right,
allowing a breakdown of my will.

I thought about my thoughts
and how I am thinking too much
and doing too little, trying
to make sense of it all.

I need a walk in the rain,
to cleanse my soul,
a journey towards an end
with you at its beginning.

Do you hear my spirit talking,
can you feel the whispers
as they touch you on the cheek
from lips that burn
from unanswered questions?

I mouth my softness to you,
caress your ego with my take
waiting for the perfect moment
to spin me into dreams again.

I watch for you blindly, remembering,
wondering the if evers,
the teasing of wants,
the poems once written
that stole the me,
imprisoning the feel of you
in my heart, locked.
I have lost that key somewhere
along the path we traveled.

You could walk away today or tomorrow
and it wouldn't change a thing.
For all my tomorrows
are made from my todays
and all my todays
were yesterdays' desires.
And yesterday,
you broke down my walls
entering into my world
of forever.

M
