I Sat perfectly still
So as to let the dance
Of morning rays
glide without stumble
across the back of my eyes
where I held those shadows
of us locked in embrace
erasing as they touched
any tinge of gloom
settled in the dust of time

New day burn of brilliance
Blinds those visions leaving
Cycloptic spots of color
Now blue
Now green
To float where once
We were
Waiting for driven stake
To complete the process

But if I sit perfectly still
What lies behind
all the times and all the words
Spoken or not
Will whisper with tender bladed rustle
Letting me hear
What I no longer
See

===============================

you had me from the first verse if not the title
glad you stopped in poet sir...I have missed your words and wisdom.

... and I don't know why ...
Why should love come down and just sweep me away
I want to fly ... but there are so many things in my way.

Nice evocation of losing sight. Really enjoyed, especially the "bladed rustle."

Ron

I've missed your poetry.  When one sense is not functioning right, there are others that become so acute.  A lovely metaphor!  Enjoyed!

Thanks all... been out of town for a week and trying now to catchup with projects here in the office. I have tried to read a few poems since I got back..and must say the ones I have read are indeed wonderful... perhaps next week I can spend some time reading and commenting...I hope so...

Thanks again for the comments, they are appreciated greatly
