Tonight I hope to sleep in comfort,
memories aside, this bed
of sleighing thoughts and mattress dreams
so long ago, abandoned stead.

My room is me, of burgundy
papered expressed, no words reveal
the want of then to feel it now
how long ago, my dreams would steal

Would take me on a gift of trip
caress the softness of my skin
would carry me to far off lands
to hold me through the dark within

Until the mornings peek through crack
would wake me, eyes in want of day.
Tonight I will be bedded old
in new of me, now here to stay.

M

Maureen darling girl this is seriously excellent writing, the flow of this is perfect, the internal pace and the construction cannot be bettered. as always you delight when you write, and when you write in this style you excel. Beautifully portrayed view dreaming scenes. I love this one darling girl absolutely love it

I think the dark within is the key of this piece. Makes me sleepy in good ways. And alert in others.
