On behalf of my American friends - what's soccer?

~runs away from the frothing crowd~

Last line says it all for me, FR. How many times has an accomplishment in sport returned a sense of pride and dignity to a nation suffering due to other circumstances? I can count many...

Severn,
soccer is a HUGE sport in Singapore, almost to the exclusion of all other sports...i'm sure that betting(as in gambling) has something to do with its popularity though...

Balladeer,

it's amazing how a mere sport can lift the spirits of a dejected nation..and i'm getting so pumped up..the World Cup is coming!!!

(smiles) Oh Heng, this is absolutely delightful, sweet friend, I love soccer and I especially love how it brings teams together not only in the game but also with nationalistic joy! (big hugggssssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Noah,

nationalistic joy is one cool phrase..thanks for coming up with it! it's a 6 syllabled phrase though..i would love to see that phrase turned into a senryu...
