The Lord God lights for us a loving path His peace and splendor passed onto us all Spirits reborn in baptismal bath No longer in sin, we answered His call God's goodness and love forever abounds He touches us through our hugs and kisses Trumpets of the Heavenly Host resounds Such sweet attention, a blessing this is Beautiful and loving father is He His children are the apple of His eye He loves each one of us, all equally The same from us, wants our great Lord on High He is the author of all that is good He gives us the way to live as we should. Yet, He is also the God of Wrath We're reprimanded when we fall Oh, how His nature confounds As His love dismisses And so lost are we Betrayed, we cry As all would Without Him. The truth is that His light can never dim His goodness can't be bound in unjust rings A great ruler is righteous to the brim As sovereign He rules over all things He is the Prince of Peace and King of Kings. (This was done for a challenge at another poetry board and the form is a hybrid mix of sonnet, nonet, tercet-couplet);o) |
