5000th Post

I savored the bouquet of your lips
filling the goblet of my heart
dripping with grapes of passion
overflowing the brim
with a blush of sweet touch
and a hint of candlelight
cascading sweet wicks of love
melting my soul
like French pastry
upon my tongue
filled with bonbon sweet
sampling the delicacy
of a dream come true
but roving tides rushed in
and candlelight drifted
upon gypsy waves
of yesterday

"If music be the food of love, play on."  (William Shakespeare)

beautiful imagery and analogy...
clever use of metaphor.
Congrats on 5000 poetess Victoria!!!

... and I don't know why ...
Why should love come down and just sweep me away
I want to fly ... but there are so many things in my way.
