So there I was, just sitting home and trying to relax
Oblivious that my good name was subject to attacks
And then I saw, on pages blue, alive for all to see,
Besmirchment in it's cruelest form and it was aimed at me!

A friend to all I've always been - a puppy dog, of sorts
Who, never in his wildest dreams, would use unkind retorts.
Yet here I was - assualted! (may I say, erroneously?)
By someone with a death wish who is known as Larry C.

So I decided I would try to know this fellow better..
This lad whose last named is comprised of just one single letter.
What I discovered made it clear that it was meant to be
That this man's last name should be nothing other than a C.

His father was a sailor, always heading out to C
His mother was a CPA...sounds logical to me.
His father's C-men count was low when Larry was conceived
And birth was by C-section, least that's what the folks believed.

The fact is Larry came out breached - that means he came butt first
His mother thought him ugly but the face was so much worse
So they painted eyes on his two cheeks and tried hard to pretend
That, given the alternative, this was his better end!

He ate two bowls of C-real each morning before school.
He didn't need milk added - it was moistened by his drool.
He wasn't popular in school - I mean, how could he be?
It's tough when you're a kid and your whole last name is a C!

He tried to go to C-ton Hall to earn some small degree
But it was rather rough because he always got a C.
His friends called him 'Old C-mentHead' 'cause he was not too bright.
(He wondered where the sun went when the stars came out at night!)

He fell in love with one sweet gal and did his best to please her
But every time he kissed her lips she came down with a C-zure!
Poor lad! His mother's womb the only one he'd ever seen
Shunned by a world that treated him deservingly mean.

So Larry found his way to Passions, land of poetry
And wrote some clever lines of verse for all the world to C.
He used a pic of someone else to not scare folks away
And bashed good men like Balladeer for which he has to pay.

So here you are, my fellow with a letter for a name
Since you've arrived our little home has never been the same.
Humiliate me all you want - there's one thing I will say...
Though you're a C, in friendship you will always get an A.

’Deer dearest heart, oh this is sooooo very clever, I love it absolutely love it. I’ve laughed myself hoarse here, and you wait till you know who sees it she’ll laugh so much I’ll have to pick her off the floor. As always perfect presentation, your magic pen strikes again and it simply pours forth such a fabulous poem that I’m struck dumb.

I love it and you are indeed a fabulous friend

Well, there go my dreams of B-ing a crutch
Deer certainly isn't in need of such!
Physically and mentally spry
He feinted, then punched Larry's I!
A humor joust so enjoyed by all -
I hope the banter doesn't ever stall. *S*

ROFLMAO, Deer One... this was fun from first word to last. *S*

That Balladeer, he may be old,
I had no doubt...he would not fold.
But I did some research of my own,
And found out what I had never known.

I never even had a clue,
I really thought that I knew.
Seems I was adopted, I do fear,
My biological father was Balladeer.

So that explains my fine good looks,
Got them from my genetic roots.
And why there is no fear in me,
Not falling far from that poetic tree.

It was worth the risk I took,
To correct my geneological book.
For this whole thing has made me glad,
Turns out Balladeer is 'Deer old dad!

For those who fear to go where others tread,
Just know I go there without dread.
The outcome is set before I start,
But that is not a hindering part.

To have poked some fun at Balladeer,
Is always done in such good cheer.
But I never play this game to win,
I just play to bring fun in.

So no pity need be offered up for me,
The results of my fun were plain to see.
I for one enjoy this sport,
I even enjoy a good retort.

But when a poet plays to win,
That poet should really think again.
For if you think you have a chance,
You should check with Kevin in advance.

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!

’Deer hi there, sorry I’ve not been around for several days but I promised faithfully I’d come and answer this delight. I laughed myself to death over this. In fact I laughed so much I had to call for oxygen, this is hilarious and naturally utterly deliciously written with you consummate skill and aplomb.

You know that I love this giggle-fest don’t you it is truly fabulous writing and I am awed and delighted by this.

Big standing ovation for the poetry king
