So Much for the Blues
By Larry Chadwick

If I drove a pickup truck
And strummed an old guitar,
If I smoked rolled cigarettes
And drank whiskey by the jar,

If my boots had been under many beds
And I had broken many hearts,
Then I could sing the blues
In ways that would tear you a part.

But I gave my truck to dad
And sold my classic guitar,
I never smoked a cigarette
And only drank water from a jar.

I’ve only owned one pair of boots
And I know exactly where they are.
Besides for my version of the blues
They’d throw me out of any bar.

So I’ll make my confession
With no need for the blues.
I’ve loved you without interruption
No need for I want-my-baby-back blues.

April 28, 2002

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!

I've said it before, but it bears repeating.

May you always hum the happy blues with your love, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

The only baby back I like is ribs...

And I do like this poem....I think I had
a pair of boots once upon a time....and
Yep,  they would kick me out of a bar for
wearing them....

an ocean of you,
what if I told you,

do we dare cross
