Lately I've been haunted by words
That I should have said long ago
Lately, I've been feeling like hell's
Saving me a seat for the road
Everything's passing by too fast
And I never get to decide
I'm only a passenger on
The rollercoaster called my life
Once I'd like to be the driver
But I'll never get promoted
I have to watch my life walk yet
Another mile filled with regret

Lately, I've become a local
Mem'ry no one will remember
Lately, I've been seeing shadows
That keeps re-filling my temper
I'm the lonely man in the crowd
So I might as well just play dead
While listening to my heart cry yet
Another mile filled with regret

Another mile filled with regret
And still I keep moving on
Been ignoring every stop sign
Since the day I was born
This is no excuse...this is yet
Another mile filled with regret

Life really can be a roller coaster ride some times. A well presented back-seat driver POV poem, Brian. But somehow, I feel you are in the driver's seat most days.

Yep..
I like this, and it has me nodding.
to the top.

How grave is my condition, for I cannot find the words to say, I need you so.
