You are my sister planet, shrouded by cloud cover
the name of an exotic plant where fly bait hovers;
rise out of the ocean deep in the mouth of a clam
point out stories of beauty secrets across lands.

Venus second to rotate around my sun
your fly trap functions are cued to one;
catch occasional winged insects that alight
no need for planters to fear or fright.

Roman goddess of love, man searches in futility
goddess of spring, followed by fertility;
infant son shoots arrows poisoned with passion
around godly courts, love and hate had opposed fashions.

Rivaled by the greeks and their Aphrodite
femininity and affection rivaled the mighty
risen out of the depths in the mouth of a clam
images of what women want to be, lies in your hands.

WOW!!! I just love the versatile feel of your writings, sweet friend, you depict Aphrodite so wonderfully in this poem. She is one of my favorite goddesses to research and she always inspires some of my poems. (big hugggsssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is fantastic! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Nancy,

Yes you may see more my enchanted friend,
but will I be as "flowing" as I am in the socio-political writes..that's the challenge
