Lantern Moon--villanelle

The lantern moon that shines above this night,
So fills my heart and soul with wondrous joy,
Adrift in space it glows with mystic light.

As all the earth absorbs it's beams so bright,
A magic spell it seems to now employ,
The lantern moon that shines above this night.

Then lovers all resist to say good-night,
The glowing moon has wrapped them in it's ploy,
Adrift in space it glows with mystic light.

What beauty comes from hand of God so right,
He's gifted us with wonders to enjoy,
The lantern moon that shines above this night.

So hypnotized, I linger at it's sight.
The moons romantic melody so coy,
Adrift in space it glows with mystic light.

Oh, wondrous goddess moon who takes delight
In poets here below, their hearts to buoy.
The lantern moon that shines above this night.
Adrift in space it glows with mystic light.

Floria darling girl this is utterly utterly perfect, do I like it? I love it. Your writing has too long been absent from their rightful place. No one writes quite the same as you do darling heart, and this is a perfect villanelle. Not only is it well written, it holds the form perfectly. Absolutely excellent

I’ve missed you stay a little longer please

I've been finding that these forms lend themselves quite nicely to these wonderful themes. . . this is no exception. . . it's "stellar" in every sense of the word. . .

well done. . .

A villanelle that manages to exude joy in a form known for its lack of motion and implied helplessness? ... awesome.
