Forgiveness - inspired by Sherry

"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."
NIV Matthew 6:14

What is this forgiveness that makes one pure?
Taught by Christ's death upon a wooden cross
A final gift when breath will not endure
Last transaction to save a soul that's lost.

When one is wronged a true debt must be paid
For all things must balance when, at the end
A final score is tallied; flesh is laid
Into the ground spirits rise or descend.

Could it be heavy weight of sin pulls down
Where true forgiveness lightens up a soul
And makes the difference if we fly or ground
Without forgiveness gravity's our pole?

But when our spirit's free from debts on earth
We fly to stars and galaxies above
For ev'ry pull we knew from fleshly dearth
Has been released by God's forgiving love?

And so forgive and let your soul release
So when you die your spirit can find peace.

In forgiveness.

Forgiveness costs nothing save pride.  Humility is a gift from God to allow us to forgive.  This piece rings so true.

(smiles) Indeed! I agree with both your poem and with Rob's response, forgiveness is indeed infinite and costs nothing but the heart to ask in your heart, and because he mortgages the origin behind forgiveness, He will always give us the chance to redeem ourselves when we need it the most! (big hugggggssss) This is wonderful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Newell, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Newell,
this is softer than your usual write and somehow more sensitive and loving. I really like it.
