Élan

She was born without a
middle name

because of this, there were times
she felt as if she had

no center

he had come about
to know her
and to feel her hiding

she would take a veil or two
now and then
sometimes silk

sometimes satin

he would peer into and beyond
to find her blush

and still

she could not find her own
center without his eyes

he pondered this the one day
she could not drop
that last veil

and began calling her Élan

for in all of a word’s meaning
it captured her
as she gave of herself

and finally draped his mind
with the last veil

How very well you have penned this feeling Lady.
And oh, how well I can indeed relate.
This is exquisite and headed straight for my library!

Lady...you have lifted the veil on exquisite with this write... this is just so very lovely...delicate like lace...and soft as satin. The muse is enchanting us...and we thank thee

... and I don't know why ...
Why should love come down and just sweep me away
I want to fly ... but there are so many things in my way.

You flow in this as fresh water, across long overdue rocks, somewhere deep in a quiet forest. So lovely..
