Repost with additon:

The Visit

Dear Nan
My head on your pillow as a guest in your bed
And my spirit danced with the dreams in your head.
Frolicked in the mist of this fantasies play
And walked on the beach of wiles of the day.

There could be no better time I could spend
Then the time I spent with those dreams and a friend
Our actual talk was like tea with a lime
But I really had a very good time.

You are one of a kind, this I must say
With kindness and love you went out of your way
You toured us and fed us and tend to our needs
Like flowers just planted with kindness and deeds.

You made us feel like we reached Shangri-la
A thousand mile trip to the home of a star
Your hug and your kiss just turned us to butter
Felt almost as good as those of a lover

If I knew the trip would turn out this well
I’d have left home my dear wife, Isabel.

PS. The couplet I stole from Balladeer.

Seymour darling boy HOW do you do that? write the morning with delight and wonder? MMmmm? Well however you do it darling heart DON’T stop, as I’ve said before, you make my day complete. The world doesn’t stop spinning, the sun continues to rise and to set, but …….. without your writing my world feels unfinished.

Exquisite writing as always, thank you love……. now the world can continue and my day won’t be cast into the shadow of grey.

My poets just keep leaving me with smiles of their recollections of the trip...

what I garner from all of this is that our Nan is the hostess with the most[est] class....

Like flowers just planted with kindness and deeds.

And those flowers of friendship have blossomed on these blue pages for all of us to enjoy. *S*

I'm sure this will melt Nan's heart... further fusing the bonds you've formed. *S* Beautiful!!

Seymour~ Awww!   This is lovely!  I'm not surprised a visit with Nan inspired this, she does seem like she would be the best kind of hostess   I'm so glad you shared this little tidbit from your trip.

*hugs*

Oh Sy, the poem was wonderful and it figures that Balladeer had to have the last word doesn't it? I miss you two, take care.

Sy,
A fitting tribute to a wonderful person. Though it is not likely we shall ever meet
in the physical realm, I applaud your works,
and the style with which they are presented.
