Poisoned Web

The lies tangled in despite
Pull the poisoned web so tight
Unwary is the heart that fell
Into this tortured fevered hell

Trust reflected lures you in
Captures a soul in wordy spin
Denies the touch of silken lie
Strangled hopes makes you cry

No way you have of release
The pain of lies will never cease
Don’t believe in hopes of free
Expecting nought but misery

Inside you're facing your defeat
The shameful lies you repeat
You are trapped by your desire
Writhing in this searing fire

Pause awhile and contemplate
This might be your destined fate
Beware this web it can harm
Deadly pain wrapped in charm

Marsha

Can't say I know the intent of this, but the above lines reflected to me a self-destructive cycle--and that is something of which I am quite familiar. Sigh.

However far off the mark I may be, I could relate to this, and did enjoy. Thanks!

Darling poets, just in case you think this is about me, it isn’t, I have never been happier than I am right now. It was actually written because of a discussion I had with Krissy. She works with someone who is trapped in a very destructive relationship. And so this was born, but it truly isn’t about me or mine.

Love and warm stuff

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Marsha, this is so very sad, my heart goes out to Krissy's friend and everyone else who gets caught in this kind of deceitful web! (sad sigh) This is so very sad but powerful, sweet friend, my thoughts are with her friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Marsha, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

This is a well-woven piece, looped with your lovely rhyme~
I think we all know one or two who weave their webs and end up caught in them~
Nicely done, poetess~

It's very easy to be caught up or entangled, especially if at a vulnerable time in life..

You did the title justice Marsha

Marsha, darling girl, I am truly amazed at your talent and skill for taking a little crumb fallen from a bite of someone's bread and adding a bit of Mushy honey to it, and then warming it softly in your glowing oven to make our finest living bread.

How well you bake! And I am just a little bitty hungry salivating mouth desiring your succulent delights. Let me taste you over and over again. Keep them coming, darling girl.
