The Pride Of

It seemed like a lifetime of loving you
until those stormy skies appeared
and I became anchored
in the port of self-pity.

This weekend was good for me,
family gatherings, company
to soothe the ache and rebuild the me
that I knew existed
but stayed hidden,
behind those dark clouds.

As the sun broke through,
I became energized,
a new view on life began to emerge.

I could see the climb would be high
but I know I can do it, I have reached
further inside me before
leaving my bound behind,
the ropes now secure in their hold
of memories only.

It has taken many months
to make up the loss,
the amount of suffering now minimal
compared to what lies ahead.
I am on the straight-a-way
have a direct course of action
and because of your warmth
and caring, am in a craft of mind
that steers easily
as I head towards
Destination Me.

M

Maureen darling girl OH MY firstly this is what I was talking about, it’s utterly utterly breathtaking in its beauty. YOUR writing is utterly utterly beautiful, soft and awesome in its uniquely picturesque way. Absolutely first class

Love and warm stuff

Very nice
Enjoy the mix of pictures
which punctuate the poem well
and the writing.
Always nice to see a bit of familiar skyline
With a pleasant byline.
