State of Suspended Passion

0 posted 2002-04-22 06:00 PM

I never knew that sadness
could keep a peaceful form
while thoughts with fingers through my dreams
another wing is worn.

To dream I never went to sleep
no softness near to scorn
means no more nightmares trip my screams
when love is too forlorn.

I never knew that sadness
could disguise in peaceful form
although tears my betrayal, seems
to show every place I'm torn.

"My ears have not yet drunk a hundred words
Of that tongue’s uttering, yet I know the sound:" "Romeo and Juliet"

I really enjoyed this. It reminds me of Elizabeth Bishop's "One Art".

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Siofra, I know this feeling all too well and I have realized it only hurts if we hide our sorrows in our hearts longer and it is important to share! (sigh) This is sad but powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Siofra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This poem speaks volumes to me, especially the lines:

     I never knew that sadness
could disguise in peaceful form
although tears my betrayal, seems
to show every place I'm torn.

Very well done!

Dear One, weep not, for there a relief to your sadness, and for these words, which are from your heart.

Thank you.

the form of this is unique. . .the rhyme scheme lends to the feeling of it. . .

sometimes. . . sadness is best shown. . . well done. . .
