New leaves beneath the trees
surrounded in the shade of seasons past
remembering when~
The sun rose and set in your eyes
hinting at the light
that no longer gleams quite so brightly.
As I lay on my back
looking through the branches
that have taken on a new spring
giving way to a whole new meaning.
Yet in the stillness of my thoughts
I turn to the memory of you,
reminded of the seeds we had planted
in hopes to reap what we had sown,
standing together to watch our garden grow.
My thoughts wander back in time
comforted by the feeling that perhaps a seedling
has been swept across the miles
and landed along side your walkway,
and that your new love is flourishing in abundance.
I hope that you might think of me
like I remember you~
When the spring time blooms
in a field of flowers
where it all began...

Lori,
Even if he never admits it to you...those thoughts will be there. What a candid write of love lost and replanted. Excellent job!

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!

Thanks~
Was saying what needed to be said in order to make my own peace~ Hindsight being 20/20 though I'm not sure it even mattered.
I appreciate each and every one of you for leaving your kind words.
