(Here's another one of my bi-lingual rambles! I wrote this is Spanish and the English translation is below! I'm alright, this one is just about my past and how I was trying to get through to my dad when I was abused and he ignored me, but this no longer applies to me! )

¿Dónde Ha Ido Su Corazón? (Where Has Your Heart Gone?)
By: Noah Eaton
4/20/02

(English Version)

Sometimes I try and copyright my vision
But then I know my visions can never be preconceived
I'm trying to change the rules
And escape my expectations and find some leverage
If I was a part of your affection
Does that mean that you would still respect me?

I'm like a koi in a frozen pond
Trying to hear you from beneath the blue
If I can't win your heartfelt conversation
Then I'm always left as a fool salting my wounds

Where has your heart gone?
I'm treading softly with bare feet
Trying to reach the sea
Of your uninvited attention
Where has your heart gone?
Are you going to leave me as a fool
I can hide but it's not fair
It's not easy...
Where has your heart gone?

What's the point of wearing my heart out upon my sleeve
If it is just going to rain outside and let it bleed
All I need is to put my feet on the ground
And find the space to walk around
Trying to find that souvenir
I never had...

I watch every moon elapse
And every halo of an opportunity collapse
You treat my intentions like kitchen police
Only there is no sink to keep my hands clean

Where has your heart gone?
I'm treading softly with bare feet
Trying to reach the sea
Of your uninvited attention
Where has your heart gone?
Are you going to leave me as a fool
I can hide but it's not fair
It's not easy...
It's not easy...
Where has your heart gone?

I say I'm in need of your comfort song
But you think its all just some outdated oxymoron
Well can't you see what's happening?
Can't you see what's happening?

Where has your heart gone?
I'm treading softly with bare feet
Trying to reach the sea
Of your uninvited attention
Where has your heart gone?
Are you going to leave me as a fool
I can hide but it's not fair
It's not easy...
It's not easy...
Where has your heart gone?
Where has your heart gone?
Where has your heart gone?

Oh, Noah, all of this heartfelt pleading, and I don't have any answers for you. Hold fast to your loving soul dear one. Chris

Well done Noah!
I don't understand nor read Spanish
but the English translation said it all.
I would love to hear you read this in Spanish.

This reads like a song to me, and it sings another message other than the one you say it comes with. Forgive the plain description, but it could very well be a "lost or loosing love" poem. I'd love to hear this with some music. Geesh...very much enjoyed, Noah.

How grave is my condition, for I cannot find the words to say, I need you so.

Noah, two things, Amigo:

First, the instant i read the first lines of your intro, i knew you were scarred and
still healing.  Do you know that heavy feeling when your heart just sinks in your
chest, but you suck it up anyhow, and go on?   At times, there is nothing more
important than the catharsis of a poem, and my empathy for your unconscienceable
indifference of your dad is boundless.  *sigh*

Secondly, maybe its a cliche, but they also say that the best poetry is written
from angst and hurt.  You proved that in spades with this heartcry.

and yes, my chest still lies heavy, as i write this.

Hey sweetheart,

Good thing you also posted this in english because I only understood bits and pieces of the spanish version.
It saddens me to know that someone has treated you so wrongly....you have the most kind, caring, loving heart of anyone I know!

So much angst, Noah. But I am glad this is of the past and not present. It is so well written! And I struggled with the Spanish, but am happy to say I did get the gist of it now and then. El Corazon Grande, that should be your nickname.  I'm like a koi in a frozen pond
"Trying to hear you from beneath the blue
If I can't win your heartfelt conversation
Then I'm always left as a fool salting my wounds"
I hear you, hope he hears you these days.

Well done. At least the english version is. I can't say much for the Spanish version,
it might suck... who knows.

What a wonderful piece of work, Noah!  How proud I am of you for being able to speak two languages!  I particularly like this part,
quote:
I'm like a koi in a frozen pond
Trying to hear you from beneath the blue
If I can't win your heartfelt conversation
Then I'm always left as a fool salting my wounds

Congratulations on a wonderful piece of poetry!
