In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-04-20 02:36 PM

I stand

the sound of waves breaking
inside  me--

I went to the shore,

to blend, to form
with life, the still life
the wetness of  water

drinking  slowly

it draws you in becomes a sin
of nature  an everlasting

reminder of how far the
shore can be

--slowly I become baffled
by the bending of earth and
how the horizon  turns

upside down, spilling all thoughts
of sanity forming a river
of darkness--

I stood untouched,
untold from gathering moments
of reality,

from where I use to be,
raking leaves in colorful
emotion

watching the dance
consume

closer to a breeze
of any last idea I might own

but am I aware, how I dared
my mouth to speak

to allow words,
spilling in a fumble
from my lips

I did, it made its echo, a
presentation to fertile
flowers

waiting for April rain
to soak the green
and live in unity

brush me with your lips
--in tender movements--

as I gather myself
a rendition of excitement
in allowing my breath

to bend earth
for my tears

Step through the
barrier of my mind,
enter my soul,
feel my desire,
let my eyes guide you
into the shadows of my heart

your poetry has been taking new roads of late...your heart holding on to the love...while letting go of the loss...opening up a door to healing...and the touch of another....
tis a beautiful thing to witness...watching you fly.

Hey...it's been awhile. This had a soft, slow meditative quality...like writing Tai Chi. Graceful and full of peace.

I enjoyed the read, thank you.

Lauren,
I'm afraid JM has you pegged. And as usual she is right about everything. Nice job indeed.

Loved this Lauren, could feel the movements going against the grain of your tender heart.
Your poetry graces these pages in a way that's all your own.

it is, as always, an honor to have been allowed to share, for a moment, your eyes. you write beautifully, and that requires that you see clearly - and evidently you do.
(bows deeply)
you compliment us to no end by sharing this with us.

Imagery that abounds in tranquil setting ~ this reminds me of some favorite songs of mine, an epilogue of one in particular came to my mind and I could hear it while reading this excellent write.

Lauren, perhaps one of the loveliest
poems I have seen from you, I say
unhesitatingly that it should be in
every poet's library...

and in every non-poet's heart...

truly my friend, the words flow from you as does that water from the earth. . .

perhaps, you have even come from that water. . .

you know that I love this. . . for all the same reasons. . .
