Disconnected

Labyrinth of life
subjected to the stale,
entombed of worthless voice
neglected in the wail.
Alive among the dead
on the edge of break
through the maze of lies,
endless pit of ache.

Chesire grin to fade,
nothing left to give,
erase the waste of time
disconnect the live.
Bleed to seep the tears,
disconnect the real
cut the cord of womb,
disconnect the feel.
Suffocate the breath
disconnect the phone,
eradicate the heart,
turn my eyes to stone.

Melissa,
Not so quick there Missy. We aren't through with you yet! What were you thinking?

It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo!

The brevity of verbiage and the crytpic POE-like lines, dark mood & images made this a powerful and impressive write....
I like this style from you..it suits your melacholy muse very well...
but for me personally it was the dead on cadence and meter that impressed and held me...this MUST be read aloud to fully appreciate its gifts.
Very very well done Melissa...your muse is stretching and reaching..growing with every write.

Dang it all - Janet Marie took the words right out of my mouth she did!  I am kidding of course, but did you ever capture the feeling of that moment well Melissa, as I have been there.  Well done.
