A Poet's Heart

Take a look through poet's eyes
And see the beauty of clear skies
The grace of seagull as she flies
The awe, the wonder and suprise
All through this poet's eyes

Listen through this poet's ears
To sounds that you may never hear
The whisper of the warm sea air
The heart that sings when you are near
All through this poet's ears

Feel through the touch of poet's hands
The grainy roughness of white sands
The dew laced tips of roses and
Gentle caress on skin now tanned
All through this poet's hands

Know that in this poet's mind
Lie memories I've left behind
Of prior lives once not so kind
Hid so no other soul could find
Deep in this poet's mind

Sense that in this poet's heart
I've mended places torn apart
And ripped in two by love's cruel dart
To give myself a brand new start
Here in this poet's heart

See me through a poet's eyes
As words hear whispers of the wise
And touch me with a poet's hand
Your mind open to understand
Then promise me right from the start
You'll love me with a poet's heart

Absolutely beautiful Ruth.

The forum was lonely without the grace of your gentle pen.

It is wonderful to read you again.

Dear Ruth, this has the touch of a beautiful pen, the words that speak a thousand thoughts, from a heart that is truly from a poet.
Loved it.

These verses came from one of the most beautiful hearts I have ever known. YOu are more lovely than your poetry, and that for me has always ranked among the highest. This is so wonderful

What is there not to like about this lovely piece?  It is quite apparent you found a second home and have shared it very, very well...thank you, Ruth!

Hello Ruth

There were so many truths in your words that I for one could so easily relate.  I guess we all see inside one another's souls through our writing, a place many don't see. There are so many people in my life who don't even know I write but I feel so much comfort here at PIP and through the words of others.

Take care......Sue
